ABOUT
Jose Velazquez is an an independent filmmaker with a passion for Documentary Photography and Political Cinema. As an artist in a sadly homogenized medium dominated by commercialism and infantilized narrative, he strongly believes Documentary allows us true opportunities to counteract this pernicious globalization. He holds a Master of Arts in Documentary Research for Film and Television (London College of Communication, University of the Arts, London).

"Irene en Negativo tells the story of Hector, a photographer obsessed with his model and lover's image: Irene. But as his interest swings from her to her photographs, Irene plans her escape and ultimate revenge thru the photo negatives... Originally (and ironically) conceived as a super 8 project to vindicate photography and film as a medium in this digital age (the film is a small hommage to the art and magic of the darkroom), 'Irene en Negativo' evolved into a digital project.
